Island Cohousing is a neighborhood of 16 individually owned houses and a collection of shared common facilities located on a 30-acre woodland site in West Tisbury, on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. In 1997 the land was purchased and  several owners began a highly collaborative design and development process.  In the spring of 2000, 16 families moved into completed homes!

Today, 16 families of various shapes and sizes enjoy our quiet neighborhood – from 3 months to 70 years and everything in between. Many of us attend regular potlucks in the Common House and monthly meetings to discuss the goings on of the association.

Our 2, 3, and 4 bedroom homes were built with special care by island builder, South Mountain Company – which makes them both beautiful and energy efficient with passive solar construction.
